With increasing thickness, the manufacturing of composites can cause problems in the manufacturing process. Therefore, thick composites often display defects like fibre misalignment.

To better understand how misalignments affect the mechanical behavior of glass fibre composites under compressive loading, specimens with replicable misalignments get manufactured. To obtain additional knowledge of how the properties of the matrix influence this behavior, the specimens are being tested at different temperatures.
