There is a growing interest in using natural materials in the synthesis of multi-functional and biocompatible ultra-small nanoclusters (NC) that are attractive nanostructures due to their unique electronic and catalytic properties. Engineered proteins as NC stabilizers have come into prominence since they give opportunities such as biocompatible and chemically active surfaces covering the nanostructures. Herein, we’ve taken these opportunities one step further by utilizing thermostable protein namely KlenTaq as a stabilizer of gold nanoclusters (AuNC) which provides AuNC to be thermostable and efficient peroxidase-like enzyme mimicry.
