We present new polymeric anion exchange membranes (AEMs) based on a polypyrrole-polyketone backbone, obtained from a commercial terpolymer polyketone by Paal-Knorr cyclization reaction with 3-(aminomethyl)pyridine. Microwave heating was compared to conventional heating to study its effect on the reaction time and the properties of the final polymers.
