A novel coating solution for hydrogen embrittlement protection is realized through extreme high speed laser deposition (EHLA). The deposited coating is dense and defect free. The coating also exhit strong metalluguical bonding to the substrate. Further slow strain rate tensile testing in hydrogen showed strength recovery for coated sample. The findings and results show the potential of applying the coating solution to industrial applications (e.g. metal pipeline and storage tanks)
