While it is known that magnetic field stabilizes ferromagnetic ferrite in pure iron and Fe-C systems, fundamental understanding of alloys with substitutional elements like Mn is still lacking. In this talk we aim to discuss the same. For this investigation a Fe-8Mn (wt.%) binary alloy was annealed at 450℃ for 5.5 hours in two different conditions viz. with magnetic field of 9T and without magnetic field. Corelative TKD and APT was utilized to study the effect of magnetic field on the segregation of Mn at the ferrite grain boundaries and to comment on boundary´s magnetic character.
