The thermomechanical processing with high pressure torsion (HPT) allowed the successful synthesis of novel bulk nanocomposites composed of phases with distinct mechanical properties (FeNi-NiO or Ni-NiO). The obtained bulk nanocomposites extended the magnetic characterisation of Heb from 2D to 3D structures and allowed an insight in this novel permanent magnetic material. A tailoring of the Heb was demonstrated for the Fe10Ni40NiO50 composition through the application of strain. Additionally, an unusual high Vickers microhardness was measured for the novel nanocomposite.
