The IsoTex project, in collaboration with a local SME, focuses on developing sustainable insulation panels from recycled textiles. The primary aim is to replace traditional, potentially harmful insulating materials like mineral wool and polystyrene with eco-friendly alternatives that utilize locally available, recycled textiles. The process involves converting cotton-polyester-mixtures into non-wovens, which are then heat-pressed into insulation panels. Special attention is given to stronger consolidation at the edges to facilitate the assembly of these panels using a groove system, improving ease of installation.
