Lithium-ion batteries have a wide range of applications, and their global market is booming. The most widely used cathode material of the latest generation is LiNixMnyCo1-x-yO2 (NMC).
The present work is focused on the synthesis optimization of NMC811 cathode by co-precipitation as oxalate. Precipitation as oxalates is studied as an alternative to hydroxide precipitation with the aim of obtaining homogeneous and regular morphology and target size of the produced particles. In particular, the role of metals concentration (0.2, 1 and 2 M), pH (uncontrolled pH and controlled pH at 6.5) and reaction time were investigated.
