End-to-end digitalization is highly important to automate all processes and resources relevant for testing and simulation of materials with respect to lifetime estimation. A thorough digitalization avoids errors and streamlines otherwise manual processes even including the communication with customers. To achieve a thorough, all-inclusive digitalization ontological descriptions are used for the materials and all processes relevant for testing, simulation and customer interaction. Transferring ontologies into a software implementation and finally storing all relevant data in a graph database will be outlined. While IT-based processes (e.g. simulation, data acquisition, …) are straightforward to digitalize, a particular focus is given to the digitalization of physical resources in materials testing with no online connection. Examples are taken from the digitalization of the interaction between test and simulation for validation and the ISO 9001 certification of digital materials testing processes. The presentation summarizes the topic with a status and outlook of the implementation of digital processes and resources for materials, materials testing and simulation.
