In this work, graphene is synthesized using laser scribing and lignin as a precursor, with the laser power adjusted to tune the quality of graphene. This process differs from conventional graphene synthesis method as it requires a fast, single step, in addition to having a reduced environmental footprint and high sustainability. The structural transformation will be studied through experimental and theoretical studies, and subsequently compared with conventional thermal annealed graphene. Moreover, its potential for microwave absorption will be demonstrated.
