The Euro Material Ageing (EMA) facility is one of the newest external payload to the International Space Station (ISS) which will provide an unobstructed access to the external space environment offering research opportunities for testing effect of space environment on materials. Euro Material Ageing (EMA) – a joint collaboration between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the French Space Agency (CNES). Once onboard the ISS, EMA facility will be mounted external to the ISS, to perform materials science research and calibrate its ground-based testing facilities against the real space environment. Additionally, it offers a unique opportunity to small space players of the European market for direct in-flight technology validation. In this contribution, we are presenting the selection the samples and the series of test performed during the pre-flight campaign, and also the integration of the samples in the facility. The key learnings of the pre-flight campaign are presented.
