We review our theoretical and experimental work on tailoring the diffusive transport of light in disordered systems by designing the spatial distribution of the scalar diffusivity of light or the diffusivity tensor of light, respectively.
Applications include invisibility cloaking and homogenization of diffusive light emission from organic LEDs including metal contacts.
The experimental realizations are based on different manufacturing approaches, the most recent of which is 3D printing based on demixing of a porogen and a monomer.
