Hydrogen leads to a stabilization of the austenite phase in metastable austenitic steels and thus to a reduction of the plastic strain. In this work we investigate the effects of high pressure hydrogen at 1000 bar and 300°C on the plastic behavior of metastable to stable austenitic steels with different nickel equivalents. The effects of hydrogen on the phase stabilities and the strain-induced martensite transformation are investigated using EBSD.
