Increasing approaches with big data have attract the attention of various scientific field apart from computer science. In material science, the application of experimental data, which was collected by scientists, is considered for the real-time production control and/or development of new materials. Therefore, a material data management system and an ontology for the material description is cru-cial for the application of the experimental data. In this work, we introduce intelligent digital Com-putational advanced research laboratory (idCarl). idCarl is a web application for material experi-mental data description and management system based on the material description ontology Digi-tal Material Twin, which is introduced by the steel institute and used within the cluster of excel-lence at RWTH Aachen. idCarl enables the processing chain of the material to be created and ad-justed. The experimental data of materials is automatically connected to the destinated process step with the designed id system, and finally be represented with user friendly chart view so that the specifically material properties can be monitored along the selected processing chain. Further-more, the function of idCarl can be expanded by integrating other material analyses, simulations or applications. Several workflows for new material development or real-time material properties like monitoring or property prediction along processing chain are provided.
