A correlative workflow utilizing stopped in situ experiments under the light microscope in combination with additional electron microscopy investigations giving insight into the deformation behavior of silver nanowires (AgNWs). To replicate a more application related testing case the wires are dispersed on different polymer substrates for the mechanical tests. Furthermore, the use of an elastomer substrate enabled the testing of wire fatigue.
