Refractory metals such as niobium and tantalum are essential for numerous high-tech applications due to their excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical stability. In electrochemistry, they serve as substrates for boron-doped diamond electrodes (BDD). These electrodes offer exceptional chemical resistance and a broad electrochemical stability window, making them widely used in wastewater treatment, organic synthesis, and sensor technology. This project focuses on the sustainable reuse of BDD diamond electrodes. Instead of disposing of spent electrodes, the study examines whether it is possible to remove the diamond layer and recoat the substrate after a series of treatment steps. This approach could not only reduce costs but also decrease resource consumption and environmental impacts
