While Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) offers many advantages, such as increased design freedom, the microstructural anisotropy significantly affects mechanical short- and long-term properties. In this study, LPBF-IN738LC creep samples are manufactured in three build directions (90°-Build direction, 0°-Perpendicular and 45°-Diagonal). Creep tests are carried out at 750 °C and 850 °C with applied stresses up to 350 MPa. Unexpectedly the 45°-Diagonal creep curve does not lie inbetween the 0°-Perpendicular and 90°-Build Direction curve. This study discusses the correlation between microstructure and build direction and the effect on creep behavior.
