A physics-based material model for alloy 718 has been developed including contributions from numerous microstructural mechanisms, with the aim of improving the simulation of manufacturing processes. This work focuses on the modelling of solid solution strengthening in this alloy, which depends on the energy barrier, size misfit and shear modulus misfit of each solute atom.
