Catalysis plays a crucial role in achieving the United Nations' sustainability goals, particularly in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, their subsequent valorization and promoting recycling of various waste forms. Overall, the development workflows in the field of catalysis will become more automated, efficient, and sustainable, leading to the discovery and optimization of more efficient and selective catalysts to mitigate climate change and improve the sustainability of chemical processes. Precision synthesis in materials for catalysis can significantly advance the potential of AI methods, in combination with high-throughput experimentation. In combination these approaches can lead to improved control over product quality and consistency in the overall development workflow.
