High-entropy alloys, which usually possess one or more solid-solution phases, provide a new paradigm for developing advanced metallic materials with attractive properties. In this talk, focuses will be placed on how to improve mechanical properties of these compositionally complex solid solutions via multiple strengthening mechanisms, and the main content includes:
1) Coherent precipitation hardening: precipitation behavior of strongly ordered particles and its effects on deformation;
2) Unique interstitial solid hardening: formation mechanism of interstitial-centered clusters and its influences on mechanical performance;
3) Transformation mediated strengthening: phase stability and its effects on transformation induced-plasticity.
