Electrochromic films are highly attractive for retrofitting existing windows and increasing energy efficiency and comfort in buildings. By applying a small electrical voltage or current the transmittance of the electrochromic films can be adjusted in order to reduce solar heat gain and glare. The project FLEX-G 4.0 aims to manufacture large-area polymeric electrochromic films with a unique property profile at pilot scale for integration and monitoring purposes in two demonstration buildings.
