High requirements for modern biomaterials led to increasing interest in hybrid materials which are combining dissimilar properties of individual components, such as flexibility, hydrophobicity, bioadhesion, hydrophilicity into one functional system. Moreover, injectable precursors capable to turn into flexible polymeric materials in defected tissue cavity upon external stimuli, e.g. UV light, presents significant innovation in the next generation biomaterials.
In our work, we developed a photocurable polymeric hybrid networks based on hydrophobic ester-urethane telechelic macromonomer (A) and hydrophilic PEGylated fibrinogen (B) in order to obtain amphiphilic polymer network. The telechelic macromonomer based on fatty acid derivatives from vegetable oil was synthesised with the use of non-toxic zinc catalyst.
