Sustainability assessment frameworks are essential for assessing technological advances' social, economic and environmental impacts. These tools can assist scientists, policymakers, industry, and funding partners in understanding a project's overall value and identifying any shortcomings of the technology. This study demonstrates the development and application of a social sustainability assessment tool suitable for assessing the potential impact of emerging recycling technologies on social systems within established industries and value chains.
