Anode-free lithium metal batteries (AFLMBs) promise to achieve unprecedent specific energy, by removing the need of the conventional graphite negative electrode or excess lithium metal as well as simplify the manufacturing process. Various strategies are under investigation to overcome to provide an efficient Li electrodeposition and dissolution process. Functional coatings on Cu collector are considered as an efficient approach toward durable AFLMBs. Inkjet printing of Ag nanoparticles is here investigated as suitable technique to provide improved electrode lithiophilicity.
