The robust automation of the laser-based surface pre-treatment process requires the integration of a high-resolution online monitoring system. For this purpose, diode sensors were used to detect electromagnetic radiations emitted by the running process. Consequently, the correlations of the measured signal dynamics, the applied process parameters, and the resulting surface state were investigated as inputs to develop a high-resolution online monitoring system.
