Third-party funding and proposal writing are essential in the academic environment, especially if you want to realize and fund exciting projects. Yet writing a proposal is a non-trivial challenge. The aim of this event is to provide knowledge on proposal writing to PhD students, young postdocs and interested students. Since the field is broad, we would like to focus on tips and tricks on how to write a successful proposal.

In order to enable an exchange of experiences and discussion in addition to knowledge transfer, the event is divided into two parts:
First, Prof. Peter Gumbsch (Fraunhofer IWM) will start with a 45-minute lecture providing useful tips and tricks.
After that, there will be a short general discussion with time to ask questions. After that, there will be several break-out sessions for further discussions with experts around the topic of proposal writing and great experience in different types of proposals (DFG, BMBF, ERC, ...).
