Pultrusion with nano-modified resins

Unidirectional carbon fiber composites were produced with Pultrusion using a nano-modified epoxy system. Epoxy resin was modified with 03-0.7 wt% multiwalled carbon nano-tubes (MWCNT) or carbon nano-fibers (CNF) in a two-step process with the aim of industrial application. The CNF were used untreated, the MCNT were oxidized with H2O2. The Nano-fillers were dispersed directly in the low-viscous hardener without additional solvent by ultrasound. Samples for tensile and bending tests were produced and tested. A significant increase in mechanical parameters was observed for some of the investigated mixtures.
