We constructed an optical microscopy system to observe the changes in LIPSS grown in scanning strategy.
The p-polarized laser pulses were focused onto a stainless-steel sample at an incident angle of 45 deg. After each pulse irradiation, a micrograph of the sample was taken. From the series of micrographs, a single vertical pixel area at the same height was extracted. The extracted areas were synthesized into a Real space vs Number of irradiations image and Spatial frequency vs Number of irradiations image for evaluation.
