The pharmaceutical industry is constantly working on the development of the most optimal drug carrier medium. We have sought to develop a material that can replace the gelatine capsules used in today's pharmaceutical industry. This was seen as necessary because gelatine carriers have some undesirable properties that can be eliminated in this way. In addition, gelatine is extracted from animal collagen, which makes its use not preferable for certain lifestyle and religious practitioners. In today's modern world, more and more companies are trying to reduce the use of animal-derived raw materials in their production processes and plant-derived products are becoming more common
The use of a polysaccharide natural matrix can also replace the commonly used polyethylene glycol (PEG), which causes allergic reactions in some patients. The composite could also have a positive impact on patients by reducing the side effects caused by the carrier substances of medicines. The cellular structure promotes the use of fewer active ingredients and more efficient absorption. This is important in many diseases, as individualised dosing enhances therapeutic efficacy.
