DGM Newsletter July 2022

Dear DGM members,
Dear readers,

35 years of DGM - as time goes by

Petra von der Bey, the assistant to the Managing Director Dr. Stefan Klein and a long-time employee in the DGM office, looks back on more than three decades of work and life experience in the German Materials Society at the beginning of September 2022. A personally exciting time of transformation for her and, at the same time, a reflection of the development history of the DGM. In the August 2022 newsletter editorial, we want to find out more. ...more

MSE 2022 - Materials Science Engineering

Multimedial, Scientifical, Established

In addition to the scientific program, there will be excellent networking and socializing opportunities at these highlights of the conference:

  • MSE Poster Session
Network with colleagues, young scientists and learn about the latest research in a relaxed atmosphere.
  • MSE Party
Get to know experts outside a strictly professional setting.
  • Women's Breakfast
The Women's Breakfast is the female event of the MSE Congress to share ideas and solutions on the overarching theme of women's networking.

Be there - on-site or online and get your ticket now!

56. Metallographie-Tagung - Materialographie

Registration is still possible

On the day before the Metallography Conference, customized short courses on hot topics in metallography will be offered for the first time in small groups. In addition, as usual, exciting company and institute tours will take place on Wednesday morning before the conference opening. The welcome reception in the town hall of the state capital Saarbrücken and the social evening complement the extensive scientific program of this year's metallography conference.
If you are unable to travel to Saarbrücken, online participation is possible at a reduced registration fee.

DGM-Tag 2022

Your vote counts

We look forward to welcoming you in person this year for DGM Day on 26 September 2022 in Darmstadt. Your participation is important to our association, whether online or on-site: As always, every vote counts in the DGM election
The honors and awards and the subsequent convention will round off the event in a festive way. Let's meet, exchange ideas and take advantage of the personal get-together in a family atmosphere.

Registration is required, whether you attend on-site or online!

40. Vortrags- und Diskussionstagung Werkstoffprüfung 2022

The program is online

In addition to an extensive scientific program, this year's conference will also feature an expert discussion. Once again, we want to address the topic of digitization and research data management. The questions still arise: Are we at all ready for sharing research data beyond the classical channels, and how do we want and need to prepare ourselves for the challenges of increasingly cross-structural data management? Representatives from academia and industry will participate as panelists.
Join the discussion at the expert talk "My data, your data ... our data? - Challenges in future collaborative data use" - on-site in Dresden or online!

4th European Symposium on Superalloys and their Applications

There are only a few on-site tickets left

Soon the 4th European Symposium on Superalloys and their Applications 2022 will take place in Bamberg (Germany) and online.

Take your chance to participate now and enjoy a rich scientific program with 7 plenary talks, over 115 lecture presentations, and 100 oral poster presentations.

Due to the high number of registrations, the participation must be limited on-site! There are still a few places available. However, online participation is also possible at short notice.

7th International Conference on Cellular Materials - CellMAT 2022

The preliminary program is online

Discussion Forum, Poster Session, Expert Committee Cellular Materials: The participation opportunities at CellMAT are manifold. Book your ticket now, become an exhibitor, or submit your contribution before 11 September 2022.
From metallic to ceramic to polymers: CellMAT 2022's program connects industry partners and researchers from the fields of materials science, physics, chemistry, and process engineering. This year's main topic is the application diversity of cellular materials of all material classes as functional and construction materials. International speakers will give keynote and guest lectures on applications in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy conversion, mechanical engineering, chemical systems, and the environment.
