Laser-powder bed fusion (LPBF) is an additive manufacturing process that offers a further degree of freedom for the production of hard magnets with custom geometries. However, the LPBF printed magnets are often brittle and exhibit low coercivity due to the large grains with columnar growth observed in the microstructure. To address this limitation, nanoparticles were introduced for grain decoupling and grain refinement.
