Mass production of surfaces textured by ultrashort pulse laser require the implementation of specific processing strategies. Here we report on the results obtained following two distinct approaches. From one side we nanotextured a metallic mold and successively replicated the nanostructure on a polymeric substrate. From the other side we implemented a roll-to roll machine. It includes a state of the art 350 W, fs laser and a polygon scanner delivering the beam at a maximum scan speed of 360 m/s. Coils of several meter length have been textured with a takt-time of 5.5 min/m2. The machine has been equipped with an in-line monitoring system based on scatterometry. The latter can measure at 2 Hz both the height and the period of the LIPPS. Finally, preliminary results on forming of textured coils are discussed with the opportunity to address the laser texturing with whatever shape
