LASEA
The optimization of ultrafast laser processing parameters leading to surface quality free of thermal effects can be complex and time consuming. To address this issue, we developed a semi-empirical model to estimate the heat accumulation on a surface as a function of the laser fluence, scanning speed and repetition rate. The predictions of this model allow evaluating the heat distribution at the surface, as well as optimizing the ultrafast laser micromachining strategy, yielding negligible thermal damage.
