In this study high-consistency silicone rubber with different shore hardness and the water-based blowing agent were mixed with addition and peroxide crosslinkers in a conical twin-screw mixer and then extruded in order to work out the influence of different shore hardness in the base material. The hardness of the materials used was adjusted via the silica content. The water-silica mixture used, was prepared for this purpose in a ratio of 1:2. For the selected compounds, the vulcanization properties were first determined and then the foam structure and the mechanical properties were evaluated on the extruded profile.
