In this work, we present the use of triangular flat-top shapes for surface texturing. We have generated the triangular spot in a femtosecond laser beam that was delivered to a XYZ table. We have processed a set of samples of stainless steel to produce V-shape grooves. The position of the maximum depth on the groove can be placed by rotating the drove prism and the depth and slope of the walls can be defined by setting the right processing parameters. We have been able to generate V grooves up to 8 micrometers of depth and slopes up to 40º. This process can be used for surface grating fabrication and to generate surface textures with decorative purposes.
