HyMat Lab is an early-stage web app motivated by a common challenge: hybrid materials (e.g., CFRP–steel) offer highly tailorable properties, but design and manufacturing are costly and time-intensive because many factors interact (joining element properties, material states, process settings, etc.). The app organizes heterogeneous files into a FAIR-aligned, ontology-based store (e.g., curing temperature histories, resin densities, fiber orientations), enabling simple search, visualization, and a digital part record for each component. Early ML features offer indicative process and design suggestions ("Use overlap length A"), anomaly flags ("Curing was too hot"), and rough material property forecasts ("Tensile strength is X"). The demonstrator showcases these capabilities on a real use case and signals a clear path to scalable industrial adoption.
